12V MR16 ELTINA
10W LED

This high power LED lamp is a great replacement for halogen downlights. The
12V MR16 version is a ‘drop in’ changeover in many cases where an
electronic transformer is used and the GU10 version makes a great retrofit for
240V halogens, or for 12V halogens if the transformer is removed.
The light levels are comparable to a 50W halogen and the single light source
gives them the ‘twinkle’ that many people love.
These LEDs can be retrofitted into most Halogen 12v Transformers, but we
advise against using them with Iron Core transformers. For more information

LED Drivers are also available here.

Options Available:

LED General Info
Light Emitting Diodes or LEDs are a relatively new technology in domestic
lighting, but they are developing rapidly and are the way of the future. With
extremely long lifetimes, high efficiency and robust quality they are ideal for
many tasks. They are great value over their lifetime due to vastly reduced
energy use and maintenance costs.
LEDs are currently similar in efficiency to CFLs, using around 80% less
energy than equivalent incandescents, but they have the advantages of being
very physically robust and an even longer lifetime, from 30,000 to 100,000
hours, depending on the product and usage.
LEDs are essentially a small piece of silicon that has been treated in a
special way so that when electricity is run through it light is produced. This
is similar to a solar panel only in reverse and very closely related to
computer chips. Similar advances are being made in LED technology as has
happened with computer technology, with brighter, cheaper and more efficient
products appearing regularly.
However this is no reason to hold off. There are many mature products
available which represent great value for money. For best value for money and
greatest environmental savings it is important to buy good quality
LEDs, as the cheaper products can have very poor quality light and will not
last as long.
